Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Update: No Rank Reset!
Recent confusion surrounded a potential rank reset in the upcoming Marvel Rivals update. Let's clarify: Will there be a rank reset for Season 1? The answer is no.
Initially, a mid-season rank reset was planned for February 21st, 2025, coinciding with the release of The Thing and Human Torch. However, due to significant player feedback expressing concerns about the frequency of resets, NetEase Games reversed this decision.
In a blog post, the developers stated that ranks and scores will be carried over from the first half of Season 1 into the second. Players will retain their earned positions. To unlock new rewards (including a Gold rank costume and Crests of Honor), players simply need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions by the season's end.
This decision showcases NetEase's responsiveness to player feedback and provides high-ranking players with additional time to compete.
Season 1 Mid-Season Update Details:
Beyond the cancellation of the rank reset, the mid-season update introduces The Thing and Human Torch as playable characters. Specific character balance adjustments (buffs and nerfs) haven't been detailed yet.
