Marvel Rivals Upcoming Changes
New Heroes Every Month
NetEase has announced plans to introduce new heroes monthly beginning Season 3, a significant increase from their original seasonal release schedule. Creative Director Guangguang and Lead Combat Designer Zhiyong shared these updates in Marvel Rivals' Dev Vision Vol. 05 on April 4, along with other seasonal adjustments.
The development team will implement shorter two-month seasons starting Season 3, with each month featuring a new hero. "Following comprehensive internal discussions, we've decided to adopt this new schedule to maintain the game's freshness," Guangguang explained. The team is also exploring additional game modes to complement this update.
Guangguang acknowledged player feedback as motivation for these changes: "Community discussions have pushed us to maintain the game's excitement since launch." This accelerated release schedule could potentially add up to 12 new heroes annually while maintaining gameplay balance through metrics like pick rates and win rates.

Dev Vision revealed details about Season 2's Hellfire Gala event, featuring new character Emma Frost as a Vanguard hero. The season showcases formal attire skins for existing heroes like Luna Snow and Magneto, inspired by Marvel's elite Hellfire Club.
