NetEase Games has announced a ban on keyboard and mouse adapters in Marvel Rivals on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The use of such adapters, including XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper, is considered a violation of the game's terms of service. These devices provide an unfair advantage by simulating gamepad input from a keyboard and mouse, offering superior control and aiming assistance, particularly in competitive modes with auto-targeting.
NetEase employs detection tools to identify adapter usage with high accuracy, resulting in account bans for violators. The company clarifies its stance: "Adapters, defined as devices or programs emulating gamepad control via keyboard and mouse, create an unfair gameplay advantage, especially in competitive modes."
Separately, a correlation has been observed between higher FPS and increased ping in Marvel Rivals. While the effect might be less noticeable with low ping, a jump from, say, 90ms to 150ms significantly impacts gameplay. This issue appears linked to frame rate. Until a patch addresses this, players are advised to experiment with FPS settings to find an optimal balance between frame rate and ping. Some players suggest maintaining an FPS around 90, a strategy that contrasts with higher FPS preferences in games like Counter-Strike 2.
