NetEase Games has unveiled Marvel Rivals Season 3.5, showcasing Blade and multiple new additions arriving in August.
The developer provided comprehensive details about the mid-season update, including how players can harness the legendary Daywalker's abilities in the August 8 update. This follows shortly after Season 3: The Abyss Awakens introduced Jean Grey, demonstrating NetEase's commitment to rapid content releases.
Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 Brings Blade and New Team-Ups
Blade's transition from NPC to playable character marks a significant milestone. The vampire-hunting icon first appeared in Season 1 but remained non-playable until now.
Players will finally control Blade as a Duelist class character, wielding his shotgun for mid-range combat before finishing enemies with his Ancestral Sword. His ultimate ability activates the Sword of Dracula, enabling devastating team wipes.
"Nearly a century ago, Eric Brooks was born between two worlds - the warmth of his mother's love and the darkness of the vampire who attacked her," NetEase explains. "Embracing his dhampir nature, he became the Daywalker, combining unparalleled combat mastery with supernatural abilities."
The update introduces two new team-up abilities: Duality Dance (Adam Warlock/Luna Snow) and Vibrant Vitality (Mantis with Groot or Loki). Existing team-ups expand to include Iron Fist with Chilling Assault, Star-Lord with Rocket Network, and Blade with Lunar Force.
August Updates Enhance Player Experience
The August 8 update introduces "Operation: Shield the Community" featuring a customizable text chat filter and enhanced voice chat monitoring since July 24. Competitive mode receives stricter penalties for mid-match quitters, including extended bans and significant point deductions, while remaining players gain compensation points.
Later in August (22nd), the Resource Rumble game mode debuts with its Throne of Knull map. While specifics remain undisclosed, NetEase promises a gameplay reveal soon. The mode will first appear in Quick Match before joining Competitive rotation.
Marvel Rivals continues its aggressive content schedule, maintaining the two-month seasonal cadence promised in April while actively incorporating player feedback through frequent updates.
