What's the Buzz?
Metal Slug: Awakening offers a modern twist on the beloved '90s franchise. Originally teased in 2020 by TiMi Studios as Metal Slug Code: J, the game has seen some delays and name changes. Following its Southeast Asian release in late 2023, it's finally ready for a global launch.
For the uninitiated, Metal Slug is a legendary Japanese run-and-gun series, debuting in 1996 from Nazca Corporation. It's since evolved into a multimedia phenomenon.
While not Metal Slug's first mobile foray (remember Metal Slug Defense, Attack, and Commander? ), Awakening promises enhanced features and gameplay.
The game retains the core shooter mechanics, boasting updated graphics and new gameplay elements. Players can revisit familiar characters in fresh missions, engaging in a World Adventure mode, 3-player cooperative Team-up battles, and challenging Roguelike experiences.
