Netflix and Supercell have partnered to transform the Clash gaming universe into an animated series, bringing the chaotic worlds of Clash of Clans and Clash Royale to television screens worldwide.
The upcoming show, currently in pre-production, promises to "amplify the wild energy of the games," as Netflix described in their official announcement. The storyline follows "a lovably overconfident Barbarian who gathers a ragtag team to protect their homeland while dealing with the hilarious complications of wartime diplomacy."
The Clash of Clans social team celebrated the news with characteristic humor. "Sound the alarms, prepare your defenses, and sharpen those swords – Clash is storming @Netflix!" they posted alongside a playful behind-the-scenes clip showing developers casually breaking the news during a video call. "Get ready for an adventure starring everyone's favorite mustachioed warrior and his eccentric hog-riding companions. To battle!"
Netflix's animation executives shared their enthusiasm for bringing the franchise to life. "For more than ten years, Clash has captivated players worldwide with its perfect blend of comedy, action and iconic characters - ideal material for animation," stated John Derderian, VP of Animation.
"Partnering with Supercell's brilliant creators Fletcher Moules and Ron Weiner, we're translating the games' signature humor and chaotic charm into animated storytelling. This fresh take will delight both longtime fans and newcomers alike when they experience the madness."
