Netflix's Animated Witcher Movie: Sirens of the Deep - A February Premiere!
Mark your calendars! Netflix is unleashing its latest Witcher animated film, Sirens of the Deep, on February 11, 2025. Discover what awaits in this exciting new adventure!
A Coastal Conflict in the Witcher Universe
Based on Andrzej Sapkowski's short story, "A Little Sacrifice," from Sword of Destiny, Sirens of the Deep plunges viewers into a coastal village where a centuries-old feud between humans and merfolk has erupted. A kingdom from the Continent enlists the services of Geralt, our favorite Witcher, to resolve the conflict. Prepare for a departure from the usual monsters; this time, Geralt faces a distinctly aquatic threat.
Returning Voices and a New Face
Dogue Cockle returns as the voice of Geralt, joined by Joey Batey as Jaskier and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer. A fresh addition to the cast is Christina Wren (Will Trent), voicing the new character, Essi Daven.
Behind-the-Scenes Talent
Sapkowski himself acts as a creative consultant, while Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin (writers for the live-action series) penned the screenplay. Directing the film is Kang Hei Chul, the storyboard artist behind The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.
A Place in the Witcher Timeline
The film's narrative seamlessly slots into the timeline of the live-action series, specifically between episodes 5 and 6 of Season 1. Following Geralt and Yennefer's encounter in Rinde, the Witcher is tasked with a coastal monster problem, likely in the vicinity of Redania and Temeria. While the short story suggests Bremervoord City in Temeria as the potential setting, the film's exact location remains to be seen.
