In NieR: Automata, while some materials are more abundant than others, their importance cannot be underestimated, especially when upgrading multiple weapons. These common resources are essential for a wide range of upgrades, and for those aiming to enhance their arsenal, you'll find yourself needing vast quantities of these materials.
One such commonly required resource is Dented Plates. These are crucial for many upgrades and are needed in large numbers. Although they may appear plentiful, knowing how to farm them efficiently can save you a lot of time and effort, ensuring you have enough for all the upgrades you need.
Where To Farm Dented Plates In NieR: Automata
Dented Plates are frequently dropped by several types of machines:
- Small Biped (All Variants)
- Small Flyer (All Variants)
- Small Sphere (All Variants)
These basic enemies are among the most common you'll encounter throughout any playthrough or chapter you revisit. However, simply relying on respawning enemies by fast-traveling and exploring won't be the most efficient way to gather these materials. The most effective location for farming Dented Plates is the pit where you first encounter Adam in the story.
To reach this spot, fast-travel to the Desert: Housing Complex access point, then proceed deeper into the ruins until you reach the pit. Here, machines will continuously spawn as you eliminate them, with a high frequency of basic Bipeds. These enemies, though possibly at a lower level depending on when you're farming, have a good chance of dropping Dented Plates. This location is also excellent for farming Titanium Alloy if you need that as well.
For those who prefer a more dynamic approach, the Forest Kingdom offers numerous groups of Bipeds forming spear-wielding phalanxes, which often drop at least one Dented Plate per group. Navigating through the forest also increases your chances of encountering wildlife, which is perfect for collecting Beast Hide. As you progress through the story, you'll encounter higher-level Bipeds, which have an increased chance of dropping Dented Plates, enhancing your farming efficiency.
Additionally, equipping drop-rate up plug-in chips can further boost your chances of obtaining Dented Plates, but be cautious not to lose these chips permanently by dying.
