Nintendo Denies Genki's Switch 2 Showcase Claims

Following the recent CES 2025 event, where accessory maker Genki unveiled a purported 3D-printed Nintendo Switch 2 mockup, Nintendo has issued a statement clarifying the situation. Both CNET Japan and the Sankei newspaper reported Nintendo's confirmation that the images and videos circulating are not official. The company explicitly stated that Genki's showcased hardware is unofficial and was not provided by Nintendo.

Genki, an American manufacturer of electronics and gaming accessories (controllers, SSDs, chargers, etc.), generated significant buzz by presenting the 3D-printed model and allegedly revealing a "real" Switch 2 unit, along with a purported release date. Their website even features a dedicated page for upcoming Switch 2 accessories, showcasing a highly detailed animated mockup of the console.

Despite Genki's claims, Nintendo has remained tight-lipped about the Switch 2's specifics, only confirming plans for an official announcement in the near future and the console's backwards compatibility with Switch 1 games. This denial from Nintendo suggests an imminent official reveal of the next-generation console is likely.
