Nintendo Switch 2 enthusiasts have shifted their focus from the console itself to the dimensions of its physical game cases, sparked by a potential leak from a retailer. As reported by Nintendo Life, journalist Felipe Lima discovered a listing for a Take-Two Interactive Nintendo Switch 2 game on the French retailer Fnac, which included specific dimensions. If accurate, these details suggest that the Nintendo Switch 2 game boxes will be slightly larger than those for the original Switch.
This revelation was further visualized in a Reddit post by HertzBurst, showcasing a side-by-side comparison of the two game box sizes. According to the listing, the new dimensions are 5.1 inches / 13 centimeters by 7.7 inches / 19.5 centimeters. While these cases are larger than the current Nintendo Switch game cases, they remain smaller than those used for Xbox Series X and S and PlayStation 5 games. Although not officially confirmed, it's logical that retailers would receive such information early to prepare their stock displays.

With no official release window announced by Nintendo, speculation points to a launch between June and September. This timeline is supported by upcoming hands-on events scheduled until June and a statement from Greedfall 2 publisher Nacon, indicating the console's release before September.
Earlier in January, Nintendo unveiled the Switch 2 with a brief trailer, confirming features like backwards compatibility and an additional USB-C port. However, many details, including information about other games and the function of a mysterious new Joy-Con button, remain undisclosed. The theory of a Joy-Con mouse feature has gained some attention, adding to the excitement and speculation surrounding the upcoming console.
