Charging your Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller is set to become a much quicker affair compared to its predecessor. According to Nintendo Life, the tech specs of the revamped $84.99 Switch 2 Pro Controller reveal that it can be fully charged in approximately three-and-a-half hours when using either the Nintendo Switch 2 AC adapter or the USB-C charging cable. This marks a significant improvement over the original Pro Controller, which takes a full six hours to charge.
Despite the faster charging time, the Switch 2 Pro Controller maintains its impressive 40-hour battery life, ensuring you won’t sacrifice endurance for speed. Additionally, the updated controller introduces several enhancements, such as the new C button, two extra GL/GR buttons on the underside, and a more compact, lightweight design.

Although pre-orders were initially scheduled for early April in the U.S., concerns over tariffs led to a postponement until April 24. During this period, Nintendo kept the Switch 2 console and game prices steady at $449.99 but increased the cost of most accessories, including the Switch 2 Pro Controller, which rose from $80 to $85.
