The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Announced
Official Livestream Reveal
After months of rumors swirling around, Bethesda has officially confirmed The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. They announced via a tweet on April 21 that fans can look forward to a detailed reveal during a livestream.
Mark your calendars for April 22 at 11 AM ET / 8 AM PT / 4 PM BST, when Bethesda will go live on their official YouTube and Twitch channels. Here's a handy schedule to help you tune in at the right time, no matter where you are:
First Released in 2006
Originally crafted by Bethesda Game Studios and co-published with 2K Games, Oblivion was initially slated to launch alongside the Xbox 360 in late 2005. However, due to unforeseen delays, it hit the shelves for Xbox 360 and PC in March 2006.
The mobile adaptation, developed by Superscape and brought to players by Vir2L Studios, followed in May 2006. PlayStation 3 users in North America got their hands on it in March 2007, with Europe following suit in April 2007. Plans for a PSP version fizzled out, but Oblivion saw several bundled editions with titles like Fallout 3 and BioShock.
Recent online leaks, purportedly from developer Virtuos’ website, have surfaced showing promotional art and comparisons between the original and remastered versions of Oblivion. It's expected that the remaster will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S (including through Game Pass), and PC.
Rumors are also circulating about a Deluxe Edition that could come with bonus weapons and a horse armor DLC pack, but nothing has been confirmed yet by Bethesda. Stay tuned to Bethesda's livestream on April 22 for the official scoop on The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
