Capcom unveiled fresh gameplay footage of its highly anticipated action game, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, slated for release in 2026. The reveal also confirmed the game's protagonist: the legendary swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi.

The game stars Miyamoto Musashi, a historical figure renowned for his unparalleled swordsmanship. The trailer highlights not only his impressive combat skills but also his roguish and humorous personality.Capcom describes Onimusha: Way of the Sword as a dark fantasy action game featuring one of Japan's most iconic historical figures. Musashi's in-game likeness is reportedly based on Toshiro Mifune, the celebrated Japanese actor who famously portrayed Musashi in several samurai films.
The game is set in a Kyoto overrun by Malic, an evil force summoning hellish creatures into Japan. This marks the first new entry in the Onimusha series in two decades. To build anticipation, Capcom also announced a remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, launching May 23, 2025.
