Albion Online, the immersive medieval fantasy MMORPG developed by Sandbox Interactive, is set to launch its highly anticipated update, Rogue Frontier, on February 3rd. This marks the first major update of the year, and we already have a comprehensive overview of what to expect.
What’s Happening in the Outlands?
The Rogue Frontier update focuses on the introduction of The Smugglers, a group of rebels tired of the Royal Continent's oppressive rules. They've established themselves in the Outlands, setting up secret underground hideouts known as Smuggler's Dens. These dens serve as essential hubs for banking, repairs, and planning your next adventure. They're interconnected through the Smuggler's Network, facilitating trade across the Outlands.
The Smugglers have formed their own Faction, locked in a perpetual struggle against the Royal Guards. Players can support them by rescuing captured Smugglers or delivering contraband hidden in Smuggler Crates.
Loyalty Has Its Perks in the Rogue Frontier Update of Albion Online
In the Rogue Frontier update, loyalty to the Smugglers is rewarded handsomely. Maggy Slade, a dubious trader found in the dens, offers exclusive rewards for your allegiance. Among the rewards are the Smuggler’s Vanity Set, a Smuggler’s Cape that reduces potion cooldowns, and a Smuggler’s Ring and Avatar.
A new feature, Kill Trophies, has been introduced with this update. These trophies drop when you defeat another player, with the quality of the loot on your defeated foe increasing your chances of obtaining one.
Rogue Frontier also introduces new weapons to Albion Online, enhancing both style and gameplay. The Rotcaller Staff allows you to summon a mist-spewing form that repels enemies. The Skystrider Bow enables levitation and the ability to rain down bolts from above. Lastly, the Forcepulse Bracers send shockwaves through opponents as you charge into battle.
