The eagerly awaited return of Overwatch 2 to China was recently announced. The full relaunch is scheduled for February 19, but a technical test held from January 8 to 15 allowed fans to experience much of the content they missed, including Overwatch: Classic and the six new heroes introduced since the game's servers were shut down in China during Season 2.
Following the successful technical test, Overwatch 2 has shared more about what Chinese players can anticipate. In a message on Xiaohongshu (also known as RedNote), game director Aaron Keller announced a multi-week Return to China celebration. This event will feature popular in-game events and rewards that fans have missed over the past two years. Additionally, all Chinese players will have the opportunity to earn Battle Pass rewards from Seasons 1 and 2 before the game's relaunch, and from Seasons 3 through 9 through in-game events following the relaunch.

Keller also teased that Overwatch 2 Season 15 will include skin bundles inspired by Chinese mythology.
