Developer Pocketpair has announced a new addition to their popular monster-catching universe with Palworld! More Than Just Pals, a dating sim that promises to bring romance into the mix. Revealed on March 31, 2025, this isn't an April Fools' Day prank, despite the timing raising some eyebrows among fans who are accustomed to gaming companies pulling off playful hoaxes around this time of year.
Pocketpair is keen to reassure skeptics: *Palworld! More Than Just Pals* is a legitimate project. The concept originated from their 2024 April Fools' Day stunt, where they jokingly introduced *More Than Just Pals* as a fake game. Now, it's turning into a real video game set to launch on PC via Steam at a yet-to-be-announced date. This dating sim takes an intriguing twist on the Palworld universe, inviting players to step into the shoes of a transfer student at the prestigious Palagos Private Academy. Here, you'll have the chance to befriend and potentially fall in love with a variety of student Pals, each with distinct personalities. The game's Steam page introduces characters such as the "cute" and "mysterious" Katress, and the "timid" Chillet, drawing from the familiar creature roster of Palworld.
“You, the protagonist, enroll as a transfer student in the prestigious Palagos Private Academy,” explains Pocketpair. “You will meet unique friends (pals) and enjoy school life through friendship and romance. It's up to you whether you stay friends with the pals, develop romantic relationships with them, or even dismember and eat them.”
This doesn't concern April Fools :)

As Palworld celebrates its one-year anniversary, fans can look forward to more updates that will keep them engaged while awaiting the dating sim's release. The latest update introduced exciting features like crossplay support, Blueprint upgrades, and a photo mode. For those dreaming of a Nintendo Switch 2 version, there's a glimmer of hope, though if that doesn't pan out, perhaps Palworld! More Than Just Pals will make its way to the console in the future.
