No Concrete Plans from Pocketpair

In a recent interview, Mizobe discussed the difficulties in bringing Palworld to the Switch. While acknowledging ongoing discussions about potential new platforms, he confirmed that no announcements are imminent. The game's demanding PC specifications pose significant hurdles for a Switch port. Mizobe previously stated that the PC version's higher specifications make a direct port technically challenging.
Future platform releases, including PlayStation, other consoles, or mobile, remain unconfirmed. Earlier this year, Mizobe indicated that Pocketpair is exploring options for expanding Palworld's availability. He also confirmed that the company is open to partnerships or acquisitions, but has not engaged in discussions with Microsoft regarding a buyout.
Aiming for Enhanced Multiplayer: 'Ark' and 'Rust' Inspiration

Mizobe also shared his vision for expanding Palworld's multiplayer aspects. An upcoming arena mode, described as an experiment, will pave the way for more extensive multiplayer features. He expressed a desire to incorporate elements reminiscent of popular survival games like Ark and Rust, aiming for a robust PvP mode with deeper resource management and player interaction. Ark and Rust are known for their challenging environments, complex resource management, and extensive player interaction, including alliances and tribes, blending PvE and PvP elements.

Palworld, Pocketpair's creature-collecting and survival shooter, has seen remarkable success since its launch, selling 15 million copies on PC within its first month and attracting 10 million players on Xbox Game Pass. A significant update, including the free Sakurajima update launching Thursday, will introduce a new island, the highly anticipated PvP arena, and more.
