The Realmgate stands as a pivotal element in the endgame of Path of Exile 2, offering players a unique pathway to some of the game's most challenging encounters. Unlike traditional map nodes, accessing the Realmgate doesn't require Waystones but involves a different set of resources and steps. This guide will walk you through locating the Realmgate, utilizing it effectively, and understanding what awaits you on the other side. Proper preparation is key to maximizing the benefits of your Realmgate adventures.
How to Find the Realmgate in PoE 2
Locating the Realmgate is straightforward once you're familiar with the mapping phase starting point. To quickly return to this area, simply click on the floating home icon visible on your mapping screen. This action will refocus your view to where the mapping phase begins, and you'll find the Realmgate conveniently positioned next to the stone Ziggurat.
Be mindful that the home icon might sometimes overlap with the red skull icon, which marks the Burning Monolith. These two landmarks are usually in close proximity, so clicking on either one will guide you to the vicinity of the other.
How to Use the Realmgate in PoE 2
Accessing the Realmgate is your ticket to engaging with the endgame Pinnacle boss fights in Path of Exile 2. Here's how to use the Realmgate to challenge these formidable foes:
- Xesht, We That Are One (Breach Pinnacle Boss): To confront Xesht, combine 300
Breach Splinters to form a Breachstone. Use this Breachstone at the Realmgate to initiate the boss fight.
- Olroth, Origin of the Fall (Expeditions Pinnacle Boss): For a battle with Olroth, you'll need a Logbook of Level 79 or higher, which you can obtain from Expeditions. Speak with Dannig in your Hideout to use the Logbook. Dannig becomes a permanent resident of your Hideout after your first encounter with him during Expedition maps.
- The Simulacrum (Delirium Pinnacle Event): Assemble 300
Simulacrum Splinters to create The Simulacrum. Utilizing this at the Realmgate will unlock a map filled with 15 waves of Delirium enemies, best tackled with mapping setups.
- King in the Mists (Ritual Pinnacle Boss): Secure an "An Audience With the King" item through the Ritual Favour system by spending Tribute. This item, when used at the Realmgate, will grant you access to face the King in the Mists.
It's important to note that the Trialmaster and Zarokh, the Temporal, encountered at the end of the Trial of Chaos and Trial of Sekhemas respectively, are not part of the Realmgate system but are significant endgame challenges in their own right.
The ultimate endgame boss, The Arbiter or Ash, awaits within the Burning Monolith, not through the Realmgate. Accessing this fight requires collecting three Citadel keys, which you can unlock upon your first encounter with the Burning Monolith.
