You're probably familiar with the Pocket Gamer Awards, but did you know our sister site, PocketGamer.biz, also hosts an event that celebrates the world of mobile gaming? Indeed, the annual PG Mobile Games Awards spotlight the industry's best, honoring everything from development tools and support agencies to service providers.
What does that have to do with us, you might ask? Well, among the 23 categories is the PG People's Choice Award – and that one's for you! While much of the event focuses on the business side, it’s still essential to recognize the top release from the past year. And who better to decide that honor than the players who enjoy mobile games day in and day out?
Nominations are open now
It's a public vote, opening on June 30th and closing on July 31st. As the observant may have noticed, voting doesn't start today – that's because we first need your nominations. From now until midnight on June 27th, we invite you to nominate your favorite game from the last year. After the nominations are in, we'll take a few days to prepare everything for the main vote.
Once voting closes on July 31st, it will be a little while before the results are revealed. They'll be announced at a glamorous awards ceremony in Cologne on Tuesday, August 19th. Of course, we'll also share the winners through other channels, so don't worry if you're not the type to dress up and attend events.
The past year has been incredible for mobile gaming, with outstanding ports, exclusive mobile releases, and even cross-play titles you can enjoy across devices. With so many high-quality options available, I'm certainly glad I don’t have to pick the winner myself.
