Sucker Punch unveiled the Ghost of Tsushima follow-up last September, introducing a new protagonist embarking on a violent odyssey through 17th century Japan.
"Sixteen years ago in Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido), the Yōtei Six outlaw gang destroyed Atsu's life," explained Sucker Punch's Andrew Goldfarb. "After slaughtering her family and leaving her crucified on a flaming ginkgo tree, they presumed her dead. But Atsu survived, mastering combat to eventually return with one objective: eliminate each member - The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito - using the very blade that impaled her years prior."
"While vengeance drives Atsu initially, her journey evolves as she uncovers deeper purpose through unexpected alliances across Ezo."
Ghost of Yōtei continues 2025's trend of expansive Japanese revenge narratives, launching six months after Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Shadows - which itself will receive significant DLC later this year.
