Pokemon GO's Fashion Week: Taken Over event introduces a highly anticipated feature: remote raid pass functionality for Shadow Raids. This limited-time opportunity, running from January 15th, 12:00 a.m. to January 19th, 8:00 p.m. local time, allows players to participate in one-star, three-star, and five-star Shadow Raids remotely or in person.
This event presents a unique chance to capture Pokémon with enhanced Individual Values (IVs). The convenience extends to the Shadow Ho-Oh Raid Day on January 19th (2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time), where remote participation is also enabled, boosting shiny Shadow Ho-Oh encounter rates and offering the chance to teach it Sacred Fire. Furthermore, players can utilize Charged TMs to remove the Frustration move from Shadow Pokémon.
While this marks a first for remote Shadow Raids, Niantic has confirmed this feature will be temporary. Post-event, remote raid passes will once again be unavailable for Shadow Raids. The future implementation of this popular request remains uncertain, though the positive reception and previous criticisms regarding in-person raid limitations suggest a potential for permanent integration. This trial period allows Niantic to gauge player response and assess the feasibility of long-term implementation.
