Get ready for gigantic Pokémon battles! Pokémon GO has officially confirmed the arrival of Dynamax Pokémon in the upcoming Max Out season. This exciting new feature, alongside a host of in-game events and rewards, promises a truly massive gameplay experience.
Max Out Season: September 10th - 15th
The Max Out season kicks off September 10th at 10:00 a.m. local time and runs until September 15th at 8:00 p.m. local time. Prepare for an action-packed week!
Dynamax Encounters & More!
The season's launch introduces Dynamax versions of familiar favorites in 1-star Max Battles: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Skwovet, and Wooloo. Catch them all, including Shiny variants! These Pokémon, and their evolutions, can then be Dynamaxed themselves. Special Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases with event-themed Pokémon and rewards will also be available.
A special Seasonal Special Research story focusing on Max Battles begins September 3rd and runs through December 3rd, offering rewards like Max Particles and a new avatar item.
Max Particles & Power Spots on the Horizon
An exclusive Max Particle Pack Bundle (4,800 Max Particles) will be available for $7.99 on the Pokémon GO web store starting September 8th at 6:00 p.m. PDT. Max Particles are crucial for Dynamax battles.
Rumors suggest the arrival of Power Spots next month – key locations for Max Battles, Dynamax Pokémon encounters, and Max Particle collection.
Mega Evolution & Gigantamax?
Pokémon GO senior producer John Funtanilla hinted that some Dynamax-capable Pokémon will also be able to Mega Evolve. While there's no confirmed timeline for Gigantamax Pokémon, Niantic promises further details on Dynamax battles soon. The possibility was teased at this year's Pokémon Worlds.
