When is the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event?
The Bug Out event in *Pokemon GO* **starts on March 26 at 10 AM local time and runs until 8 PM local time on March 30.** That gives you five full days to hunt down these fascinating bug-type Pokemon, perfect for Shiny hunting as nearly all featured Pokemon have Shiny variants in *Pokemon GO*.
Featured Wild Pokemon for the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event
According to the official page, you'll encounter the following bug-type Pokemon more frequently in the wild during the Bug Out event:
- Caterpie
- Weedle
- Wurmple
- Nincada
- Venipede
- Dwebble
- Joltik
- Grubbin
- Dewpider
- Nymble
- Cutiefly (with Shiny potential)
New Pokemon During the Bug Out Event
Two new Pokemon will make their debut in *Pokemon GO* during the Bug Out event: Sizzlipede and Centiskorch. You can evolve Sizzlipede into Centiskorch with 50 Sizzlipede Candy.
Featured Raid Pokemon for the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event
Get ready for plenty of raid action during the *Pokemon GO* Bug Out event. Here's what you can expect to see at raid gyms, with those marked with an asterisk having a Shiny variant:

All Pokemon GO Bug Out Event Bonuses
Trainers will enjoy the following bonuses during the Bug Out event:
- Double XP for catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better.
- More Candy for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
- More Candy XL for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws (for Trainers over Level 31).
- Sizzlipede can be attracted with Lure Modules.
- Higher chance of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.
- Additional Pokemon will appear near a lured PokeStop if enough Pokemon are caught using a single Lure Module.
Pokemon GO Bug Out Field Research, Timed Research, & Paid Timed Research
Spinning PokeStops will grant event-themed Field Research tasks. Completing these tasks can earn you Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with some of the event's Pokemon. Timed Research rewards include a Lure Module and encounters with the event's Pokemon. The Paid Timed Research offers a Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with the event's Pokemon. Remember to complete and claim these rewards before the event ends.
Pokemon GO Bug Avatar Items
Starting with the Bug Out event, new bug-type themed Avatar items will be available in the in-game shop:
- Sizzlipede Boots
- Scolipede Jacket
Pokemon GO Bug Out Collection Challenges
The Pokemon GO Bug Out event will feature Collection Challenges with event-themed Pokemon, rewarding you with Stardust, XP, and encounters with event-themed Pokemon.
