Get ready for the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova! Black and White Kyurem and Shiny Meloetta are making their debut. This guide details how to obtain and fuse these powerful Pokémon.
Kyurem's Alternate Forms Arrive
Following the December 2024 announcement, Niantic revealed the exciting addition of Black Kyurem, White Kyurem, and Shiny Meloetta to the February 2025 Unova Tour. From February 21st-23rd, 2025, attendees in New Taipei City, Taiwan, and Los Angeles, USA, can participate in special events to catch and fuse Kyurem. To obtain base Kyurem, defeat either Black or White Kyurem in five-star raids.
Fusion requires specific resources:
- Black Kyurem: 1,000 Volt Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Zekrom Candy
- White Kyurem: 1,000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Reshiram Candy
Fusion Energies are earned by defeating Black or White Kyurem in raids. Reversion to the base form is free. Shiny Kyurem, Reshiram, and Zekrom have increased encounter rates during the event.
A global event, Pokémon GO Tour: Unova – Global, runs March 1st-2nd, 2025, offering free access to these Pokémon for all players.
Shiny Meloetta Makes its Pokémon GO Debut
In-person event ticket holders can complete a Masterwork Research to encounter Shiny Meloetta. This research doesn't expire, allowing for completion at your own pace.
Iconic Unova Legendaries
Kyurem, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Meloetta originally appeared in Pokémon Black and White, the fifth generation of Pokémon games. Black and White 2 introduced Kyurem's alternate forms, capable of learning Ice Burn and Freeze Shock, mirroring their Pokémon GO counterparts. This limited-time event offers a complete Unova experience.
