After months of whispers and leaks, Pokémon Champions finally emerges from the shadows. This brand-new multiplayer battle-focused Pokémon game is a collaborative effort between Game Freak and The Pokémon Works, a recent joint venture between The Pokémon Company and ILCA (the studio behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl).
Pokémon Champions puts the spotlight squarely on Pokémon battles, utilizing the series' classic battle system. Players will engage in online battles against each other, showcasing their strategic prowess. The trailer confirms the return of Mega Evolution and Terastallization, promising a diverse and exciting range of battling possibilities across various Pokémon generations and types.
A key feature is its integration with Pokémon Home. This allows players to import their Pokémon collections from other games, finally giving those hundreds of Pokémon gathering digital dust a purpose.Currently in development for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, Pokémon Champions lacks a firm release date. However, it will support Latin American Spanish at launch, in addition to other languages commonly featured in Pokémon games.
