The Pokémon Company addresses ongoing shortages of its highly anticipated Scarlet and Violet—Prismatic Evolutions expansion, assuring fans that reprints are underway. This statement marks the first official acknowledgment of the widespread global shortages impacting the January 17th release.
The company expressed understanding for the frustration caused by the limited availability, stating that increased production is underway at maximum capacity to meet the exceptionally high demand. While no firm date was given for when the reprints will reach retailers, the Pokémon Company confirmed that they are en route to licensed distributors. The statement refrained from directly addressing speculation regarding scalping as the cause of the shortages, simply attributing the issue to high consumer demand.
Beyond the reprints, the Pokémon Company reaffirmed its plans to release additional Prismatic Evolutions products throughout 2025. These include a Mini Tin and Surprise Box (February 7th), a Booster Bundle and Accessory Pouch Special Collection (March 7th and April 25th, respectively), a Super-Premium Collection (May 16th), and a Premium Figure Collection (September 26th). Players can also obtain cards from the set early via the Pokémon TCG Live mobile game's Battle Pass, starting January 16th. The Pokémon Company thanked fans for their patience and continued support.
