In the game, you construct thriving ecosystems by strategically placing flora and fauna cards. Your task is to cultivate forests, wetlands, and meadows, all while ensuring every plant and animal contributes to a stable and balanced food web.
Players can choose from several distinct gameplay styles. Harmony mode is about earning harmony points by forming habitats, positioning wildlife, unlocking natural wonders, and gradually increasing the size of your map.
Puzzle mode presents carefully designed, smaller maps with a predetermined set of cards, challenging you to meet specific score targets. Classic mode stays true to the fundamental gameplay of maintaining balance while expanding your territory.
For those who prefer unlimited freedom, Creative mode removes all rules and goals, letting you design landscapes purely from imagination. After crafting your world, Photo mode allows you to take stunning snapshots to share with others at the end of your session.
Preserve goes beyond simple horizontal expansion. It introduces a vertical layering system, enabling you to stack natural elements and build habitats that grow upward as well as outward.
The game's hexagonal map features three distinct elevation tiers: lowlands, highlands, and mountains. These elevations are critical, as they dictate which specific types of plants and animals can thrive in each area.
