Following a minor leak last week, EA has officially unveiled the title of its upcoming Star Wars game: Star Wars: Zero Company. The game is being crafted by the newly-formed studio Bit Reactor, with assistance from Lucasfilm Games and Respawn. The first glimpse of official artwork for Zero Company has been released, showcasing the game's unique visual style.
Although details are scarce, we know that Star Wars: Zero Company will be a single-player, turn-based tactics game. Fans won't have to wait long for more information, as EA has scheduled a first look at the game on April 19 during the Star Wars Celebration in Japan.
Bit Reactor, established in 2022, comprises industry veterans who have worked on renowned titles such as XCOM, Civilization, Gears of War, and Elder Scrolls Online. It's been known for some time that Bit Reactor was collaborating with Respawn on a Star Wars project, but this marks the first occasion we've received concrete details about the game.
The extent of Respawn's involvement in Zero Company remains somewhat unclear. Respawn has faced its share of challenges recently, including the cancellation of its own Star Wars FPS project a year ago, coupled with significant layoffs at EA, and the termination of another multiplayer FPS project just last month.
Further insights into Star Wars: Zero Company will be shared during a live panel on Saturday, April 19, at 4:30pm local time in Japan. For those in the U.S., this translates to 12:30am PT and 3:30am ET, so set your alarms to catch all the latest updates.
