Developed by Stunlock Studios, V Rising’s full release came in 2024, after two successful years in early access. In it, players take on the role of a vampire who needs to recover strength and survive. Among other things, V Rising was praised for its engaging combat and exploration, as well as its base-building mechanics. The game made its way to Sony’s platform, with V Rising launching for the PS5 in June 2024. Even though Stunlock Studios had to release some hotfixes to address minor issues, the game has been well received overall, and its recent achievement is proof of that.
As reported by Gematsu, Stunlock Studios has announced that V Rising has reached the impressive milestone of 5 million copies sold. Celebrating this achievement, Stunlock Studios CEO Rickard Frisegard talked about the team’s passion and dedication to creating one of the best vampire open-world video games. Five million, in Frisegard's opinion, is a representation of the community they have built, not simply a figure. Moreover, Stunlock Studios' CEO assured players that this achievement provides more fuel to push the team's boundaries and continue improving the game. V Rising fans should keep an eye out, as Frisegard confirmed that new experiences and content are coming in 2025.
V Rising Sells 5 Million Copies
Additionally, the developer teased a significant update coming in 2025 that will “redefine” the game. The new update will bring a new faction, ancient technology, an improved progression system, and fresh PvP options. In November, Stunlock Studios gave a preview of some of the new duels and arena PvP that will be included in V Rising's update 1.1. In this update, players will be able to face each other without the risk of regular PvP encounters, which includes players not losing their blood type when dying.
A new V Rising crafting station will also be added with the 2025 update, allowing players to take stat bonuses from items in order to make endgame gear. Players can also look forward to a new region located in the north of Silverlight that will extend the map’s reach. This new zone will bring fresh content to players, offering harder challenges and bosses.
