Shrek 5 has revealed its new cast and teased fans with a brand-new trailer, sparking reactions even from unexpected quarters like Movie Sonic, who seems unsure about Shrek's updated appearance.
In a humorous TikTok video, the Sonic Movie account offered "advice for green ogres," reflecting on Movie Sonic's own transformation from his controversial initial live-action design to a much more fan-friendly version that was released later. The video, shared by @sonicmovie, playfully suggests Shrek could take some style tips from Sonic's glow-up journey.

IGN was the first to showcase the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie back in 2018. The initial design of Sonic, featuring peculiar teeth, physique, small eyes, and human-like fingers, received a mixed response from fans. The backlash led director Jeff Fowler to revise the character's design, which was eventually better received by the audience.
Although the response to Shrek's new look isn't as divisive as Sonic's first live-action appearance, Sonic's playful jab at Shrek has certainly entertained fans.
