A new Sims game is in the works, and it's available now in Australia! While not the Sims 5 many have been anticipating, The Sims Labs: Town Stories offers a sneak peek at potential future features. This mobile simulation game, part of EA's Sims Labs initiative, serves as a testing ground for new gameplay mechanics and visuals.
Currently in its playtest phase, Town Stories blends classic Sims building with character-driven narratives. Players construct neighbourhoods, guide residents on personal quests, manage careers, and unearth secrets within the game's Plumbrook setting.
The game's Google Play listing is visible, though downloads are currently restricted to Australia. Interested players outside Australia must register through EA's website to participate.
Initial reactions have been mixed, with some online expressing concern about the graphics and potential for in-app purchases. However, given its experimental nature, the current iteration may not reflect the final product. EA is likely using this title to explore ideas for future Sims titles.
