Snapchat's 2024 Snap Recap: A Year in Review
Looking back on the past year? Many apps now offer year-end recaps, and Snapchat is no exception with its new 2024 Snap Recap feature.
What is Snap Recap?
Unlike last year, Snapchat introduces Snap Recap in 2024. Similar to Spotify Wrapped or Twitch recaps, it compiles your year's Snapchat data into a fun, visual summary. However, instead of detailed statistics, Snap Recap showcases a single snap from each month. It's a curated look back at your year, not a quantitative analysis of your Snapchat usage. The recap seamlessly transitions into your Memories, showing flashbacks from the same dates in previous years, offering a longer-term perspective.
How to View Your 2024 Snap Recap
Accessing your 2024 Snap Recap is straightforward. On the main camera screen, swipe up to open Memories (don't press the shutter button). Your 2024 Snap Recap should be prominently displayed as a highlighted video.
Tap the recap (avoiding the share icon) to view it. The selected photos and videos play automatically. You can tap the screen to advance if desired. You can save, edit, share, or even add the recap to your Story. Like other Snaps, it remains private unless you choose to share it.
Why Don't I Have a Snapchat Recap?
If your 2024 Snap Recap isn't appearing, there are a few reasons. Snapchat Support explains that the rollout is gradual; yours might not be generated yet. The number of saved Snaps is a factor, and infrequent Snapchat use may also prevent a recap from being created. Unfortunately, requesting a recap if it doesn't appear automatically isn't possible.
