Even though the worldwide release of Sonic Rumble is still a bit off, scheduled for May 8th, the excitement is already building with a pre-release crossover event that's set to dazzle fans. This isn't your typical crossover; it's a celebration of Sega's iconic past and present stars converging in the world of Sonic Rumble.
This unique event kicks off before the game's global launch and will be accessible to players in regions where Sonic Rumble is currently in soft launch. From now until May 7th, you have the chance to claim the Werewolf character, inspired by the classic game Altered Beast, absolutely free.
For those subscribed to the Sega Star Event Pass, the excitement continues with access to the Weredragon from Altered Beast, along with Opa-Opa, the beloved first mascot from the arcade hit Fantasy Zone.

But that's not all! The in-game Ring Shop will offer even more characters, including Upa-Upa and the Werebear. Meanwhile, the Red Star Ring Shop brings characters from Super Monkey Ball into the mix, with AiAi and MeeMee ready to join the fun.
It's quite unusual to see such an event before the official release, but those fortunate enough to participate during the soft launch phase are in for a treat. This crossover event is just the beginning, as Sega has promised a lineup of exciting collaborations and crossovers throughout Sonic Rumble's calendar.
On a side note, keep an eye out for another exciting release. Finnish developer Supercell is gearing up for a rare launch with a quirky, monster-hunting part-timer simulator coming soon to iOS and Android.
