Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Receives Final Major Update, Ending Live Service Support
Rocksteady Studios has released the final major content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, bringing an end to the game's live service journey. Season 4 Episode 8, titled "Balance," is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This update marks the conclusion of new content development, though online features will remain active.
The game, launched in February 2024 to mixed reception, faced criticism for its unexpected live-service model. The decision to end support after only ten months was announced on December 9, 2024. Despite this, Rocksteady assures players that all online functionalities will continue to be accessible, allowing for continued cooperative gameplay.
Season 4 Episode 8 introduces significant additions:
- Libra Infamy Set: A high-risk, high-reward set inspired by the DC Super-Villain Libra, manipulating damage dealt and received by enemies.
- Notorious Weapons: New powerful weapons, including The Silencer's Complete Silence (with a devastating Alt-Fire creating a damage-reducing zone), Doctor Sivana's Magic Bullets (piercing and electrifying enemies), and Chronos' Equilibrium (boasting increased damage based on missing shield).
- New Mayhem Mission: A final showdown against Brainiac, concluding the main storyline.
- Gameplay Improvements: Reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels (with retroactive rewards), and adjustments to Deathstroke's Suicide Strike duration.
- Extensive Bug Fixes: Addressing numerous issues across gameplay, UI, audio, and more, including fixes for specific character abilities, resource rewards, and leaderboard tracking.
Offline Play Remains an Option:
Following the Season 4 Episode 7 update, players can now enjoy the game's content, including the main campaign and seasonal missions, offline. This feature ensures continued access even if online servers are eventually shut down.
Available on PlayStation Plus:
For those who missed it, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is currently available on PlayStation Plus until February 3rd, alongside The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.
Full Patch Notes (Season 4 Episode 8):
(Note: The full patch notes detailing the Medieval Elseworld additions, specific numerical values for weapon damage, and the complete list of bug fixes and improvements have been omitted for brevity. They are available in the original text.)
While the live service aspect of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has concluded, players can still enjoy the substantial content offered, both online and offline.
