In Supermarket Together, managing a bustling store solo can be challenging. This guide explains how to build and utilize self-checkout terminals to alleviate some of the pressure.
How to Build a Self-Checkout Terminal
Building a self-checkout is simple. Access the Builder Menu (press Tab), locate the self-checkout option, and purchase it for $2,500.
Is a Self-Checkout Worth the Investment?
Self-checkout terminals reduce cashier congestion, minimizing customer wait times and the risk of shoplifting due to long lines. However, early-game investment might be better directed towards stocking shelves or hiring additional staff if playing with friends. Multiple checkout counters staffed by players are a more efficient early-game strategy. Hiring employees to man regular checkout lanes is another option.
The downside? Self-checkout increases the likelihood of theft. As you add more self-checkout lanes, you'll need to improve store security to mitigate losses.
In later stages and higher difficulty settings, the increased customer traffic and associated problems (more litter, more theft) make self-checkout a valuable tool for solo players. It's a helpful addition when managing the store single-handedly becomes overwhelming.
