Tips & Tricks To Complete Survival of the Fittest in Phasmophobia
Upon arriving at 42 Edgefield Road, you'll find yourself without traditional evidence-gathering tools like Ghost Writing Books or DOTs Projectors. Instead, you'll need to rely on the ghost's unique behaviors and the limited equipment provided.
Use the Parabolic Microphone to detect specific ghost sounds, such as the Banshee's scream or the Myling's frequent noises. Place Salt on the floor to identify a Wraith, or light three Firelights in succession to possibly reveal an Onyro. You start with no setup time (technically five seconds) and zero sanity, making you instantly vulnerable to ghost hunts. Sanity cannot be restored, even with the two Sanity Medications provided. Expect high ghost activity and frequent events, which can help you detect the ghost's behavior. Remember, the ghost's favorite room remains constant, despite its ability to roam.

Most doors will start partially open, complicating ghost location detection. However, the fuse box will be functional and start on, offering a rare advantage. All nine hiding spots in 42 Edgefield Road are available, providing ample opportunities for safety during hunts.
You're equipped with one specific Cursed Possession, the Monkey Paw. Using it to "wish for knowledge" can eliminate incorrect evidences and ghost types in your Journal, aiding in identification. However, this wish comes at a high cost, blinding and deafening you and triggering a Cursed Hunt nearby. It's best used in groups where one player can act as a sacrifice.

How to Access Challenge Mode in Phasmophobia
To access Challenge Mode, navigate to the Difficulty Settings in the Main Menu. Choose Singleplayer or Multiplayer to start a new lobby, then select the Difficulty tab above your character ID. Scroll to find Challenge Mode, select ‘Apply’, and then choose 42 Edgefield Road from the Maps board to your left. Remember, you must complete the challenge three times to receive the full $5,000 reward, and only need to correctly identify the ghost.
