Getting Started as an Archer in Rune Slayer

If you're a seasoned archer, feel free to skip ahead, but for newcomers, this section is essential. As an Archer, your most effective strategy is to maintain a safe distance from your enemies and let your arrows do the talking. Archers excel at dealing damage but are not built to withstand it.

Archers don medium armor, which offers more protection than light armor but less than heavy armor. Unlike their counterparts who wear light armor, such as Magicians or Priests, Archers lack protective spells or heavy armor. Instead, they rely on others to absorb damage, particularly through the use of their Pets.

Tamed Pets are crucial for Archers. Initially, your pet options may be limited, but as you progress, Archers gain access to a variety of pets unavailable to other classes, making them one of the most formidable classes in the game.

How to Get Beast Tamer in Rune Slayer

At Level 30, like all other classes in Rune Slayer, Archers can choose a subclass. You have the option to specialize as a Sharpshooter or a Beast Tamer. Opt for Beast Tamer as soon as you reach level 30.

Currently, there's no compelling reason to choose Sharpshooter. While the idea of firing multiple arrows at once is appealing, it pales in comparison to the Beast Tamer's Alpha Predator passive ability, which allows you to tame unique beasts like Bears, Adult Spiders, Crocodiles, and especially Mud Crabs. Beast Tamers are so resilient and powerful that they can even tackle many group activities solo.

As you approach max level, the Elder set is an excellent starting point, complemented by a few other key items. The best early weapon to acquire is the Troll Tusk Bow, which can occasionally drop from the Hill Troll.

You can craft the entire Elder set using parts from the Elder Treant raid boss. Don't be intimidated by its size; gather a group or join a Discord guild to take down the giant tree. As an Archer, you should have no trouble dealing damage and surviving, especially with a strong Beast Tamer pet.

Best Late Endgame Armor and Weapon for Archers

Once you reach max level and aim to min-max your Archer, you'll need to join the Demon Sect. Start by killing players from the opposing faction to increase your standing with your demon overlords, which will allow you to acquire the Stalker armor set. Be prepared to save a significant amount of in-game currency. The rest of your armor is relatively straightforward to obtain.
