Torchlight: Infinite has just revealed the details for its thrilling eighth season, dubbed Sandlord, set to launch on April 17th. This season promises a significant overhaul, introducing innovative gameplay elements and exciting new content to this beloved ARPG.
In Season 8: Sandlord, players will dive into an entirely new experience as they take to the skies in the Cloud Oasis. This new feature brings economic gameplay to the forefront, challenging players to trade resources, manage workforce assignments, and oversee production lines to construct their very own aerial empire. It's not just about battling monsters anymore; it's about building and managing your skyward stronghold.
Returning with a vengeance is Thea, sporting a new trait called Blasphemer. This season, she forsakes her divine abilities for a curse known as Desecration. Starting off modestly, this curse scales powerfully, amplifying Erosion damage inversely to her remaining blessing power. Players can customize builds to maximize its potential, turning it into devastating AoE explosions or effects that scale with HP, ideal for those who thrive on damage-over-time and intricate synergy setups.
Endgame content receives a major boost with a complete rework of Deep Space. Expect five new stages, expanded maps, and more formidable enemies. The addition of the Probes system allows players to adjust the level of risk and reward, with the potential to snag better loot, including coveted Compass chests through the Compass Probe.
The update also introduces the Blending System for belt crafting, enabling players to fuse Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into a single item slot. This offers deeper customization and build diversity. A new boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, joins the fray, now present in Plane Watcher and on the 20th floor of Supreme Showdown.
To celebrate the launch of Season 8, Torchlight: Infinite is hosting the Sands of Fortune anniversary event, running from April 17th to May 1st. Players can complete tasks, earn Gold Rush Attempts, and compete for a share of a staggering $250,000 prize pool.
