In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, combat is crucial, and starting with better weapons is essential for survival. After the challenging prologue, Henry finds himself without any weapons, but there's a way to arm yourself early and at no cost—the Dogwood Village Bow.
Early Dogwood Village Bow Location in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
After parting ways with Hans, your goal is to find a way into the wedding. You can achieve this by taking a job with a blacksmith or a miller and proving your worth. Even if you're not interested in the blacksmith job, the marker on your map will guide you to where you can pick up the Dogwood Village Bow. If you decide to work as a blacksmith to attend Semine's wedding, you'll also want to know how to obtain the hermit's sword, though that comes later.
The blacksmith job is located in Tachov, north of Troskowitz, where the prologue ends and the world opens up. From Troskowitz, head west along the road, which then curves north. At a fork where a small road branches west and the main road continues north, take a right towards a cluster of trees. This spot is easy to overlook as it blends in with the surrounding landscape. Hidden among these trees is a small training area.
Within this cluster, you'll find a target with arrows stuck in it. Collect the arrows for free ammunition, then look to the right side of the tree to find the Dogwood Village Bow leaning against the trunk in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. You can also grab some brew from a nearby stump and pick mushrooms in the area. Once you've gathered what you need, you can proceed with your current quest.

Other Ways to Get the Dogwood Village Bow in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Alternatively, you can purchase the Dogwood Village Bow, though it's not the most powerful ranged weapon available. Huntsman's Son Vitek in Tachov sells it, but considering the proximity to the free version, it's not worth the cost. If you're in need of a ranged weapon, it's better to go for the free bow. Vitek also offers other, more effective weapons, and you can earn money through alchemy by collecting herbs and brewing potions to sell.
Whether you opt for the free bow or save up for a different weapon, having a ranged combat option is advantageous, especially since you can't adjust the difficulty. The combat system in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* remains similar to the first game, and melee combat isn't for everyone. Personally, I prefer relying on ranged weapons whenever possible.
If you choose to continue to Tachov to work as a blacksmith, you can sleep and save after demonstrating your sword-forging skills. Alternatively, head to the miller to advance the main quest. With a ranged weapon, combat in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* becomes more manageable.
And that's how you can get the free Dogwood Village Bow early in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
