Netflix Unveils Devil May Cry Anime Opening Trailer, Hints at Multi-Season Arc
Following the announcement of its premiere date, Netflix dropped the opening trailer for its upcoming Devil May Cry anime adaptation. Set to Limp Bizkit's iconic "Rollin'," the trailer showcases dynamic action sequences featuring a young Dante, Lady, and the White Rabbit, peppered with nods to the game franchise.
Showrunner Adi Shankar elaborated on his vision for the series. He explained the late 90s/early 2000s setting and its influence on the soundtrack, highlighting Limp Bizkit's inclusion and promising other period-appropriate tracks, alongside a synthwave remix of the game's soundtrack by Power Glove. Shankar further hinted at a multi-season plan, suggesting future seasons will boast distinct visual styles and soundtracks to reflect the diverse nature of the Devil May Cry games.
While plot specifics remain under wraps, the first season is anticipated to adapt elements from the Devil May Cry 3 manga, Code 1: Dante, centering on a young Dante's investigation into a child's disappearance, forcing a confrontation with his demonic heritage and the legacy of his father, Sparda.
The eight-episode first season is slated to debut on April 3, 2025.
