Speak with Casper and Havel

To kick off "In Vino Veritas," you'll meet Casper Rudolf, who you can find by his drink cart on the east side of Kuttenberg City. Just enter through the east gate and head straight to bump into him. Casper is curious about the secret behind the monks' exceptional wine, but uncovering this mystery involves several steps. Make sure to exhaust all dialogue options with Casper to learn about Havel and a book he left with Adleta, which will guide your approach to impressing Havel.
If you decide to retrieve the book from Adleta, head to the southeast corner of Kuttenberg’s inner wall during the morning or afternoon. You'll find an open garden where Adleta often spends her time. Before approaching, pick five Marigolds. You'll need to reach Adleta before her brother Hugo arrives, or you can speak with Hugo to get his permission to talk to her. Be kind to Adleta and explain that you need the book for Casper. You can either pass a skill check to convince her to give you the book or offer the Marigolds as a gift. Once you have the book, read it from your inventory.
Alternatively, you can bypass Adleta and head straight to Havel at his inn in Kuttenberg City. Make sure your Charisma is at least 18 by choosing the right outfit and brushing up on your drinking skills. Engage Havel in conversation and select these options:
- Germany. Let’s do it.
- That’s a very fine gift.
- Steinberger.
- It’s missing ginger.
These choices will impress Havel, who will then share the monastery's secret ingredient with you. Return to Casper with this information.
Find the Monastery’s Secret Ingredient

Next, head to the vineyard north of Kuttenberg and speak to the recruiter to begin the "Under the Straw Hat" side quest. While you don't need to complete this quest, starting it allows you to explore the vineyard freely. Find Jerome, usually seated on a bench near the main building, and engage him in conversation.

Sneak into the main building, turn left towards the storeroom, and use your lockpicking skills to open the chests inside. You'll find the Sulphur Wicks, which Casper needs. For some extra Groschen, consider taking five seedlings from the garden behind the main building before you leave.
If you're interested in completing "Under the Straw Hat," you'll need to perform tasks like removing plants around the vines and moving sacks. Once you've done enough work, report back to Jerome to finish the side quest and earn some Groschen. Otherwise, return to Casper with the Sulphur Wicks and any seedlings you collected.
