Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo launches another exciting title, Warriors: Abyss, a fresh take on the musou genre. This new roguelite, featuring familiar faces from the Warriors series, is available now.
Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to build a squad of characters and battle relentless waves of enemies. The isometric perspective evokes the style of Diablo and the acclaimed roguelite, Hades.
Gameplay footage reveals team-based combat against demonic forces from "hell," featuring characters like Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang from various Warriors titles.
According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and expand their team over time, unlocking additional summoning abilities. Battles support up to seven active heroes, with a launch roster of 100 warriors.
Koei Tecmo plans to expand the character roster with additions from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors, and has hinted at further additions, even suggesting the possibility of characters from outside the Warriors franchise.
Warriors: Abyss is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch release is scheduled for February 13, 2025. Players who purchase the game before March 14, 2025 will receive an in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set.
