The wait is finally over for fans of Wuthering Waves, as the game has released its highly anticipated version 2.0 update, brimming with new content to explore. From a sprawling new region with diverse areas to fresh characters, bosses, echoes, and gameplay mechanics, there's plenty to discover. And now, the JRPG is available on the PS5, allowing you to immerse yourself in the action on a larger screen.
The new region, Rinascita, dubbed the Land of Echoes, is a nation of city-states rich in culture and art, with a deep connection to Echoes that are woven into daily life. From the vibrant streets of Ragunna to the serene Nimbus Sanctum and the rugged Thessaleo Fells, each area offers a unique atmosphere waiting to be explored.
Two new characters, Carlotta and Roccia, have joined the roster, each bringing dynamic combat styles to the game. Carlotta, a 5-Star Glacio Resonator, wields dual pistols and showcases a gem-inspired aesthetic in her elegant combat. Her Resonance Ability, connected to gems, unleashes a torrent of Glacio damage through crystallized energy.
Roccia, from the Fool’s Troupe, combines theatrical flair with battle prowess, summoning tornados to control the battlefield. Despite her background as an improv comedian, her combat skills are no laughing matter. Her stage partner, Chest Mimic – Pero, is always by her side, wreaking havoc on enemies. Roccia's Resonance Ability pulls all foes together, creating multiple attacking opportunities.
For the first time, players can now customize characters with skins, including Jinhsi’s peach blossom outfit and Sanhua’s exorcistic adjuration. The update also expands boss encounters with new foes like the Dragon of Dirge and reimagined Nightmare Echoes, adding challenging mechanics to familiar battles.
Exciting new gameplay features have been introduced as well. Players can now take to the skies with a flight mechanic, transform into Cuddle Wuddle for a leap, or cruise on gondolas during the main quest.
