Wuthering Waves' elemental system has evolved significantly in Version 2.0. While initially serving primarily as character buffs and enemy resistances, elements now feature directly interactive Elemental Effects. This guide details these effects and the limited supporting Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets.
Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs:
Each element inflicts a unique status effect:
| Elemental Effect | Effect Description |
|---|---|
| Havoc Bane | Stacks periodically, up to 2. At 2 stacks, all stacks are removed, dealing Havoc DMG and reapplying to nearby characters. |
| Glacio Chafe | Reduces movement speed per stack, up to 10 stacks which freeze the resonator. Players can "Struggle" to shorten the freeze duration. |
| Spectro Frazzle | Stacks decrease periodically dealing Spectro DMG. More stacks = more DMG over time. |
| Fusion Burst | Stacks up to 10, exploding at max stacks for significant Fusion DMG. |
| Aero Erosion | Deals Aero DMG periodically; stacks don't deplete to deal DMG. More stacks = more DMG over time. |
| Electro Flare | Reduces ATK based on stacks: 1-4 stacks (-5%), 5-9 stacks (-7% + Magnetized effect), 10 stacks (-10%). |
Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets:
Currently, Elemental Effect interaction is limited:

- Resonators Applying Elemental Effects: Only Spectro Rover (post-Version 2.0 storyline) can apply Elemental Effects. Its Resonance Skill's Resonating Spin variant applies 2 stacks of Spectro Frazzle and a Shimmer effect preventing stack decay, allowing sustained Spectro Frazzle buildup.

-
Echoes and Echo Sets: Currently, only one Echo Set benefits from Elemental Effects, primarily for Spectro Rover:
- Eternal Radiance (Echo Set): 2-piece bonus: +10% Spectro DMG. 5-piece bonus: Inflicting Spectro Frazzle increases Crit. Rate by 20% for 15s; 10 stacks grant a 15% Spectro DMG bonus for 15s.
- Nightmare (Echo): Mourning Aix attacks deal 273.60% Spectro DMG. DMG against Spectro Frazzle-affected enemies is increased by 100.00%. The equipped Resonator gains a 12.00% Spectro DMG bonus.
While limited currently, the introduction of Elemental Effects suggests future expansion of this mechanic in Wuthering Waves.
