The upcoming Wuxia-inspired open-world action adventure Where Winds Meet from Everstone Studios will be a PlayStation 5 console exclusive for a minimum of six months, as confirmed by a new video on PlayStation's YouTube channel. While the game is planned for multiplatform release, the trailer confirms the timed exclusivity period before arriving on other systems including mobile and PC platforms.
Currently slated for a 2025 release, publisher NetEase has announced the game's final test will begin on July 25 for both PC and PS5. This test version introduces Kaifeng - a major urban area not previously shown in earlier builds. Interested players can register through the official sign-up page, though no pre-order bonuses have been detailed yet. Wishlisting is currently available.
Originally launching on PC in China in late 2024 before its mobile port in 2025, Where Winds Meet transports players to the tumultuous Ten Kingdoms Era. Assuming the role of a wandering swordsman, players' decisions will dynamically shape the conflict between warring dynasties. The game draws heavy inspiration from Wuxia traditions, blending historical martial arts with supernatural elements.
Our hands-on preview from August 2023 highlighted the game's ambitious fusion of Zelda-style exploration and Witcher-influenced RPG mechanics, featuring complex systems and branching narrative possibilities.
This exclusive deal follows Sony's successful strategy with Black Myth: Wukong, which saw massive success as a console exclusive before its upcoming Xbox release in August - a full year after its PC and PS5 debut.
