In these puzzles, players color or leave blank cells in a grid based on numbers provided at the grid's edges, ultimately revealing a hidden image. These numbers serve as a form of discrete tomography, indicating the count of unbroken lines of filled squares in each row or column. For instance, a clue like "4 8 3" signifies sets of four, eight, and three filled squares, respectively, with at least one blank cell separating each group.
Solving a nonogram involves strategically determining which cells to fill (boxes) and which to leave empty (spaces).
