Embark on an adventure that starts with daytime levels and progresses into more challenging nighttime scenarios. At the outset of each level, you'll choose which plants to bring into battle. You begin with two plants and two slots, but as you advance, the number of plants and slots increases, up to thirty different plants and ten slots. The game's platform features five lanes, with zombies restricted to one lane as they march towards your house. Strategically place different types of plants, each with unique powers, to thwart the zombies. Planting requires "sun," which you can earn during daytime levels or by planting specific plants. If a zombie reaches the end of a lane, a lawnmower will clear that lane, but a second breach means game over.

Enhance your gameplay with nine different mini-games, each containing eight levels:
- Light Up Stars: Fill designated spaces with Starfruit to complete levels. Strategically select and place plants within the marked areas.
- Slot Machine: Let the slot machine decide your plant placements. Face endless zombie waves until you reach the level's sun goal.
- Little Zombie: Battle shrunken zombies in large numbers. Plants are provided via a conveyor belt, with different sets per level. Save your bombs for the big waves!
- Last Stand: Survive 3-5 rounds with ten chosen plants. No sun-producing plants allowed; start with 3000-5000 sun and gain 250 more per round.
- Zombie Quick: Experience double-speed gameplay, affecting zombies, plants, projectiles, and sun collection.
- Invisible Zombies: Use plants from a magic conveyor belt to detect and defeat unseen zombies. Different plant sets per level.
- Bowling: Roll Trees, Palm Trees, and Tomato Bombs to knock down zombies. Watch as trees ricochet and take out multiple foes.
- Push Pumpkin: Control a zombie to push pumpkins into targets. Remember, zombies can only push, not pull.
- Dotman: Navigate a Piranha flower through a maze, eating dots and avoiding colorful zombies to complete the level.
