WHAT IS STENCILETTO?
Stenciletto offers a series of progressive brain exercises using basic geometric shapes. These activities help build and enhance visual & spatial reasoning abilities. Anyone can enjoy it - players simply need to recognize common geometric shapes and understand stencil mechanics.
Solving these puzzles engages multiple critical thinking skills simultaneously: visual-spatial perception, logical reasoning, planning, and problem-solving. It appears simple but provides genuine cognitive challenge. Your task is to tap geometric stencils in the right sequence to recreate the target pattern - much trickier than it sounds, guaranteed to make you think!
The game was refined over ten years by an experienced educator with input from children, teens, adults, and individuals with learning differences or brain injuries. All groups found it engaging and motivating.
Our latest update introduces Education Mode, making the game classroom-friendly. A single purchase unlocks all relevant content, with controls for content access, internet, Game Center and sharing. Education Mode supports Family Sharing, perfect for homeschool environments.
HISTORY OF THE GAME
Originally called the Stencil Design IQ Test, this activity was developed by early 20th century psychologist Grace Arthur Ph.D, who recognized nonverbal skills as fundamental to intelligence. She found it suitable for seven-year-olds and university professors alike. While testing Native American and deaf children who struggled with verbal IQ tests due to limited schooling, she proved they possessed IQs matching educated Americans using this nonverbal assessment.
WHAT'S IN THE GAME?
Two game types await: Classic Games use Grace Arthur's original geometric stencils (squares, circles, triangles, crosses) familiar to most players. World Games provide extended challenges for those with strong perception and logic skills seeking greater difficulty.
Stenciletto features over 600 graded puzzles. Each level includes free samples (60 free puzzles total).
Each paid game contains 15 puzzles. Completing Classic Games rewards players with animated Smileys based on historical and mythological figures from diverse cultures - a fun way to track progress and celebrate achievements.
Available play modes include:
• Mortal Mode (default) - Purchase lives or wait for regeneration, with timing, scoring and Mortal leaderboards
• Immortal Mode - Unlimited free lives with occasional top-ups, featuring timing, scoring and Immortal leaderboards
• Mindful Mode - Untimed, unscored relaxation play with no time limits
• Education Mode - Unlocks both Immortal and Mindful modes (Mortal Mode can be disabled)
