Discover an engaging and effective way to teach evangelism and foundational Bible lessons through the innovative audio-visual resources provided by the Africa Inland Church (AIC) Sunday School Committee in Juba, Southern Sudan. These resources, adapted by Global Recordings Network Australia with the permission of the AIC, are specifically designed to assist young teachers in delivering impactful Sunday School lessons.
The app, which complements the audio-visual picture books available from Global Recordings Network, includes a comprehensive set of 226 Bible lessons organized into 9 books. These lessons are based on the renowned Good News and Look, Listen, and Live programs, which are also accessible through the 5fish app. Each lesson is crafted to last approximately twenty minutes, focusing on a specific segment of the Sunday School session, while leaving room for additional activities such as singing, prayer, Bible reading, and quizzes, to be planned by the teachers themselves. To enhance the learning experience, we suggest concluding each lesson with a brief prayer and a song that reflects the week's teaching.
Designed for children aged 7 to 12, these lessons were initially tested by teachers who manually transcribed them into exercise books, ensuring they were concise yet comprehensive. While some lessons have been expanded, the core idea remains to provide a brief outline that teachers can elaborate on during their preparation. Each lesson features an aim at the top, guiding the focus of the teaching. Recognizing that it's impractical to cover the entirety of God's truth in a single lesson, the approach is to highlight one or two key truths per lesson, allowing children to gradually build their understanding of God.
The lessons are not intended to be read verbatim to the class but serve as a guide—a "walking stick" for the teacher, rather than a crutch. This method encourages teachers to engage actively with the material and adapt it to their teaching style and the needs of their students.
The app offers several user-friendly features, including title search, teacher instructions for each lesson, the ability to play English audio recordings, and display pictures for each lesson story. Importantly, the app can be used offline, except for the audio component, making it accessible in various settings.
The latest version 1.0.3, updated on October 24, 2024, brings several enhancements, including improved navigation, lesson layout, and options for printing and sharing, ensuring a smoother and more effective teaching experience.
