Hanoi Towers: A Mathematical Puzzle Game
The classic Hanoi Towers puzzle—also known as Towers of Brahma and Lucas' Tower—challenges players to move disks of varying sizes between three rods. The goal is to transfer all disks from the left rod to the right rod using the fewest possible moves, adhering to these rules:
- Only one disk can be moved at a time.
- Only the top disk can be moved.
- A larger disk cannot be placed on top of a smaller disk.
The game progresses through levels, each adding a new disk to the starting stack, increasing complexity. Upon completing a level, players receive feedback including:
- Level number
- Completion time
- Time record achievement (if applicable)
- A three-star ranking based on minimal moves, error-free play, and time record.
Victory requires completing all seven levels. A final results screen displays level completion times, records, move counts (good and bad), star rankings, and achievement progress. Six achievements are available:
Achievements:
- First Three Stars: Earn your first three-star ranking.
- Three Impeccable Levels: Achieve three consecutive three-star rankings.
- Four Consecutive Time Records: Set time records on four consecutive levels.
- Unstoppable!: Set time records on five levels.
- Game Completed: Complete all seven levels.
- Best Game Time: Finish the game with the minimum total time.
